I had the pleasure of cooking with Sel Gris Sea Salt while cruising along the picturesque coast of France. The experience left me in awe of the depth of flavors that this sea salt adds to dishes.

 

Sel Gris, which translates to "grey salt" in French, is a hand-harvested, unrefined sea salt that is collected using traditional methods in the Guérande region of France. The salt is harvested from clay beds in the area, which give it a distinctive gray color and unique mineral composition. Its briny and slightly moist texture makes it perfect for seasoning meats and seafood.

 

One of my favorite dishes to make using Sel Gris Sea Salt is a classic French-style steak au poivre. The simple yet elegant dish requires high-quality beef, cracked black peppercorns, and of course, Sel Gris Sea Salt.
